Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (www.usaid.gov) and managed by the Academy for Educational Development (www.aed.org), Macedonia Connects may result in Macedonia becoming the first all-wireless internet country in the world.

June 18th Press Conference Releasing Internet Usage Survey Results

USAID’s MkConnects project will hold a press conference today to present the key findings of the Internet and Computer Usage Survey 2007.


Educational Rendezvous 2007

The Secondary Education Activity in cooperation with The Youth Association of Vocational High Schools in Macedonia is preparing for the 2007 Educational Rendezvous. The Rendezvous will take place from April 19th to the 21st.


Best Website Competition Fall 2006

The USAID’s project “Macedonia Connects” had organized the competition for “The Best School Web Site in 2006”. 159 primary and secondary schools from all over the country were competing for the prestige awards.

Website Competition Results Released

Just one year after the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) provided Macedonian elementary and high schools with computer labs, internet access and intensive training, students in those schools have exceeded expectations in their creative use of these resources.


MkConnects at the Macedonia Surfing Caravan

During the month of October 2006, MkConnects is participating in the “Macedonia Surfing” Internet caravan.
The goal of this activity is to promote the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to the citizens of Macedonia and aid to the country’s progress.


Macedonia Connects at the Broadband World Forum Europe - Paris 2006

In September this year the Macedonia Connects project was invited by Motorola to participate in its technology for development panel at the Broadband World Forum Europe in Paris, October 2006.


Macedonian Internet usage reaches 27%

The results of a survey funded by USAID were released on May 22nd. The survey shows that nearly one third of all Macedonian residents now use the Internet on a regular basis.


U.S. Provides Free Wireless Internet Access to over 50 Municipalities in Macedonia

February 01,2006 - More than fifty municipalities across Macedonia will gain increased access to a variety of information resources through wireless internet access provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
